Planning ahead

The Trees of Hope team are happy to confirm that good progress has been made with the Roots project, initiated earlier in 2022.

Preparations are now being made for the next phase of the work.  Together we are currently discussing medium term plans that can build on the successful completion of the new shade structure that is already providing protection for young saplings and of facilities around the borehole (including toilets) to encourage further engagement of local community members.

Csilla's Chums fundraising concerts

In July this year Csilla's Chums performed concerts in Bovey Tracey, Ashburton and Bristol, and collected almost £1,400 in donations for the Trees of Hope project and Zambuko Community Library and Cultural Centre.

The rhythms, music and songs played by Csilla’s Chums were originally shared and performed with band members during community and school based projects  - alongside members of the African diaspora living in Bristol and Devon, including Ben Baddoo, Chartwell Dutiro, Kaya Charimba and currently Kennedy Chinyere.
